1. You should know the parts of the microscope and proper use of the microscope.

2. You should know the characteristics of living things. (What do all living things have in common?)

3. For Kingdoms Monera, Protista and Fungi you should know the following:

A. Cell structure – Single-celled or multi celled?

Prokaryotic or Eukaryotic?

Any other major characteristics?

B. How do they eat?

C. How do they reproduce? (You should be able to discuss binary fission, conjugation and spore production.)

D. How are they helpful or harmful?

E. Where can they be found?

F. You should know examples of each. (An example of a Moneran is Anthrax.)

G. You should be able to discuss any labs that we have done in class like the bacteria lab “What’s the Dirtiest Place in the School?’
